Carnegie Hall 2008

We're already getting inquiries about the annual holiday show at Carnegie Hall for this year. Here is some information that will help you. Tickets will go on sale a few weeks earlier this year. We're expecting tickets to go on sale in August.

Current members of the Guthrie Center get priority notification of the show and have the first chance to buy advance tickets. To become a member or for more information, call George at (413) 528-1955. Only CURRENT members will be able to purchase tickets before the general public. Make sure you become a member by August 1st to get your advance notice and instructions on how to get tickets.

We will send out an e-mail notification as soon as tickets go on sale to the public. Make sure you are on the e-mail list. You can also sign up online... www.risingsonrecords.com and go to the store page. It's on the left side about 1/2 way down.

Postcards will be mailed out to people who are on our mailing list AND live near Carnegie Hall.

We will also post another notice once tickets are on sale.

The ARLO GUTHRIE SOLO REUNION TOUR - TOGETHER AT LAST (with the original band) came to an end with the last show in Sydney, Australia - At the Seymour Centre. After a fairly long and much delayed series of flights, and a stop at the TELLURIDE BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL, I finally got back to the farm. It's about the same as I left it almost a year ago, sometime near the end of September 2007. Abe has made a lot of progress on the studio and we expect to be laying down tracks for the next CD and day now. In the meanwhile, it's a time to decompress from all the travel - A time to dream. It's a time to do nothing and become invisible and a time to get the past in enough order to move forward without having to look back.

Abe, Krish and I are also planning a few gigs together in August - THE BOYS NIGHT OUT TOUR. But looming on the horizon is the next big tour - THE LOST WORLD TOUR begins sometime in October and will run through next May (2009). Planning for the tour will be enough to keep anyone from being invisible for too long. Expect lots of new material when we hit the road as the leaves begin to fall.

Happy Merry New Everything to all our friends everywhere. At this moment I am getting a little break from the road before we kick it up again in Feb. 08. The memories of the last year linger with good thoughts. We met some great people, sang some good songs, and we also shared a few tears. That's the way it is. I don't look back very often, except at times to thank everyone for being there. So, thank you all - from our whole family to you and yours... Enjoy the days ahead, they gotta get better eventually. Hello to all our friends and families everywhere! Thanksgiving is one of our few holidays left where we are not expected to buy things, and get caught up in material stuff. You don't even need to send cards and letters. This holiday my family and I will celebrate by hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner at the church - The Guthrie Center - in our little part of Massachusetts. Anyone and everyone is invited and we are thankful for those who have helped sponsor the event, with contributions, volunteering, or helping out in whatever way seems to fit. To me, this is what the best of this holiday can be - a simple sharing of something to eat - with people from anywhere and everywhere - friends and strangers, neighbors and families.

The recording with the University of Kentucky - In Times Like These - is finally moving forward. It was originally slated to be released before the 2006 holiday season.
